The project for Cours Lieutaud redevelopment, a major axis in the centre of Marseille, is based on its historical analysis and respects its original qualities, borrowed from the codes of the 19th century: wide pavements, conducive to walking; a cobbled surface, revealing a quality and a form of richness in the development; alignments of plane trees, enlivening the space.
The Cours is calmed by the reduction of the road profile and reconciles uses through equitable sharing: residents and shopkeepers, pedestrians and cyclists, motorcyclists, and motorists. It is also revitalised through the enhancement of its commercial identity by a happy treatment of the signs and commercial display areas.
