This pavilion, built for the Portopia International Maritime Exhibition in Osaka, symbolises the technology and future development of man under the sea.

It was designed to receive 6 million visitors in six months around a gigantic aquarium, transparent on all sides, and presenting various offshore technologies including aquaculture equipment. The structure is made up of a glass and steel corolla based on anti-seismic architectural principles. In front of the pavilion stands the Galathée underwater house, a symbol of new underwater living technologies.
